Plugging along...

Yup. It's been a week and a half. I warned you... I forget to blog!

Let's see. This past week, we went on a ride along the Truckee River. The plan was to go from our house in Sparks to the river to downtown Reno. Round trip, it would have been right around 21 miles.
Yeah... best laid plans and all...
Some simple math: 5 bicycles... which make 10 tires total, yez?
Which, apparently means:
6 FRIGGING FLAT TIRES!
Can you say... no more river path ride for bonzo?  Yup, me too.
So, Sunday, hubby & I got to go to REI and get new tires for my bike - since not only did I manage 2 flats... Something along that route ATE THE SIDEWALL OF MY BACK TIRE!

Monday, we tried (with Allie) to do the Verdi Loop after work... and hubby got 2 flats in about 5 miles! So, we didn't manage to finish that before it started getting dark. But, Allie & I got in just over 11 miles.
I'm wondering if I'm going to be ready for the Edible Pedal in 2 1/2 weeks... the 50 miles don't worry me at all. It's those 4 climbs that are going to do me in, I think.  But, I'll do it... even if I have to get off & walk my bike up! LOL
Hubby & I were going to go on a ride last night... but I was just feeling so wiped out, I couldn't do it. (Damn those low spoon-count days.) I kept falling asleep on the couch & was in bed asleep by 8. We'll probably aim on riding tomorrow after work. And I'm going to hit the Verdi Loop with Allie again on Friday morning before I head out of town for the weekend.

This weekend is Ducal Prize. This is a big weekend-long fundraiser to support KHTI. This is a non-profit group set up to purchase land for historical recreation usage (among other things).  I've been working with this group for many-many-many years... but this will be my last year (at least for a good long time). I've finally passed on the torch of my Money-Lady job & this year is my successor's debut (*blows a kiss to Caeryn*).
I'll be eating with Monica (Results Typical) & Mark, so food-wise we should be making pretty good choices. I'm hoping to be able to get up early each day (or every-other) and maybe do a run/walk with Monica & Caeryn.  (Ladies? You up for it?)

I'm joining a weigh-in challenge over on Spark People... But, I need to get a new battery for my scale! I haven't gotten an accurate weigh-in for several weeks. *sigh*  There's a prize for the most weight lost: a $50 gift card to GameStop. (It's a gamer Spark group.)
I've not joined any of the challenges over there before... so we'll see how it goes!
