BUBBLES!!!
(and +10 culture-nerd points if you got the reference - before you saw the kitteh...)
Anywhoo...
Hey, look! It's an update! In the same month as the last one! Yay!!
I've been a pretty good girl, this past week. Hubby & I went on a few bike rides - Tuesday was 6.67 miles, Saturday was 5.3 miles, & on Sunday, we did 19.5!! Sunday was the "Verdi Loop". A LOT of fun... but I thought my lungs were going to explode on a couple of the hills (read:mountains, for you flat landers). I had to stop 3 times to get my breathing back under control. But, I think as I keep at it, things will improve.
After the long ride on Sunday, I still managed to walk the dogs for a mile & a half! Go me!
Today, I messed about with my new kettlebell (10 lbs).
I did about 7 minutes of workout. This got my heart rate pumping & I was breathing pretty heavy. Wow. It totally works your whole body!
I'm going to try to do kettlebell twice a week. Probably Monday/Friday.
The goal is to eventually get up to a 30 minute workout on it.
I have yoga tomorrow morning (Tuesday/Thursday), and while I'm looking forward to class... I'm not looking forward to getting up an hour early for it. :-) Oh well, it's for the greater good, yes?
Okay, so recap of my planned workout schedule:
Monday - Kettlebell
Tuesday - Yoga (maybe a bike ride in the evening)
Wednesday - Bike ride
Thursday - Yoga
Friday - Kettlebell
weekend - 1 long bike ride and a day of relax
Hmm... how the heck am I supposed to get anything else done?? Oi. Guess I won't be worrying about a clean house anytime soon. But, at this point, my health has to take priority.
Oh yeah! Godkidlet's birthday cake... Ya'll probably want to see that, huh?
Yeah. Not my best work... but, she wanted ice-cream cake. Which I've never done before. I have learned... thinner layers of cake & don't let the cake sit out for more than 10 minutes or so before serving. Also, trying to frost ice cream with butter cream frosting is the suck. It kept insta-hardening the frosting & clumping off.
*sigh* Oh well. Everyone said it tasted great, even if it was uber-messy to serve.
